REYMARK: Pwede mopahalay, pero dili moundang

❝𝐑𝐄𝐘𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊: “𝐏𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐲, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠”❞

The minute you decide to become successful, you will begin to become one.”

The pattern is the same with most of us. Study now, pass the licensure examination, and then land the job in line with the degree achieved.

To Reymark Jemino, an Electrical Engineering Graduate and a passer of the recent 2022 September Licensure Examination for Electrical Engineering, hardship is never an exemption and that made him motivated.

I chatted to the first Engineer ever produced by the institution and somehow took it to a deeper conversation about what he went through prior to becoming a Licensed Engineer he ever desired.

This is how our chat went on.

Me: Good evening, Sir Reymark. Celebrating success with you! Congratulations on passing the recent licensure examination for Electrical Engineers. As NCMCian, we are happy to showcase your way to success. If it does not bother you, can you answer questions related to your triumph? Hoping for your affirmation soon. God bless you!

Reymark: Thank you, sir.

Me: Let me start with the first question, sir. What are the habits that help you become an achiever?

Reymark: I am an individual with great ambitions, and I like to visualize. "mahilig ko mag visualize". I visualize becoming a successful one and making a mark in this world by doing good.

Me: Thank you, sir. I know you already have. Your name is Mark. Lol What’s the biggest factor that helps you finish your studies?

Reymark: “kalisod” Poverty in life motivated me to reach my dreams to give my family and relatives an easy and convenient living.

Me: How about mistakes you made along the way, sir?

Reymark: Many to mention. Those contributed to where I am now. I learned most of those. Those mistakes help me develop my self to be better than I was yesterday.

Me: I agree. Mistakes are wrong takes that lead us to take right. Is there a moment you take the hardest decision ever that almost made you quit?

This question took him time.

Reymark: One week prior to the licensure examination, [a] stomach ulcer, urinary tract infection, and a lot more hit me that made me stay in bed and missed the most vital part of preparations, the Pre-Board, and Final Coaching. While lying down, I couldn’t help my tears flowing down my eyes, sobbing, and thinking about quitting, to let this exam pass by and to just take next year’s exam. Pondering deeply, I realized the hardship of my parents, and the people who had helped me. Then, courage came in. I cannot quit now and so I prayed and forced myself out of bed and took a single step, walking slowly and gradually. I never study anymore. I just took little steps until I recovered my strength and went back to the goal in finishing what I had started and taking the exam despite my illness. The Lord is good for blessing me with a caring partner who helped and traveled with me to Cagayan and assisted me up to my completion of the board examination. And yesterday, I celebrated right after I knew that I passed the licensure exam. I cried as I contemplated, remembering what I went through prior to this success. I am proud that I continued and never quit. My heart is rejoicing because of that testing I am stronger.

Me: No way! That’s inspiring. (teary-eyed) If you could start all over again, what would you do differently?

Reymark: No, I won’t. I am contented and happy with the results of my situation now.

Me: The best advice you can give to your fellow NCMCians.

Reymark: Dream Big! Give everything along with [a] deep, passion-filled prayer to God. Do not quit! “Pwedi ang pag-pahuway peru dili ang pag- undang.” You can rest but not quit.

Believe in yourself! Even it is hard, just continue. The important there is that you give your best. Your perseverance ends up in two results. It is either you win or somehow you learn.

Me: Thank you so much, sir Reymark. Thank you for this inspiring chat with you. God bless you!

Reymark: Thank you, sir.

Sir Reymark Jemino is preparing for his oath-taking and making himself ready for greater challenges in life. He is also a proud CHED Tulong Dunong grantee and a part of The Collrege of Electrical Engineering’s best to place 2ND RUNNER UP 🥈 during the 32ND EE Regional Quiz Show held at Central Mindanao University, Maramag, Bukidnon on September 28, 2018.
